BSUPA Round 2 - Sunset Surf, Gwithian, Hayle, Cornwall
Round 2
This event is going to go off. It's being hosted by Sunset Surf Shop and Cafe in Gwithian, Hayle in Cornwall. A huge beach with loads of space and awesome conditions. This event will see action in surf and distance paddling. If you are new to surf comps then don't be put off as the surf at Gwithian can be very managable and it's a great location to get into some waves for the first time.
Doug and Steve from Sunset along with the team at BSUPA have been working hard to put together a solid event and have support from Nautius, Starboard Stand Up Paddle Boards, Surfboard Tracker, Surf Drops, Grasshopper Porridge, Prosport Sunscream, OnFire clothing, CSkins wetsuits, Liquid Force and Skinners Brewery.There will be loads going on from kit demos, Saturday night party, coaching and a great atmosphere.
There is a limited entry numbers so get your name down ASAP. We will be there and hope to see as many of you there as possible. We are really looking forward to this event, it's going to be awesome. The 2nd round of the British Stand Up Paddle Association (BSUPA) 2008 series takes place over the weekend of June 14/15th at Gwithian Beach Cornwall.
With its wide beach offering great waves during the range of tides, Gwithian is an ideal SUP location and it’s expect to attract SUP’ers of all abilities from across the UK.
The event sign in will be at Sunset Surf van on the beach head directly in front of the beach café at 9am sharp, with first heat in the water for 10am.
COMPETITORS MUST PRE ENTER BY THE 11TH JUNE 08 TO GUARANTEE A PLACE. THIS ALLOWS FOR BETTER USE OF HEAT TIME DURING THE DAY. LIMITED BEACH ENTRY MAY BE AVAILABLE.
Following on from the success of the first event, BSUPA is pleased that local SUP Stockist Sunset Surf Shop & Cafe are hosting and sponsoring the event with co support from Nautilus, Starboard, Onfire, ProSport, Skinners Brewery, Surf Board Tracker (SBT), Surf Drops, Grasshopper, and Liquid Vision
Bill Fitzhugh of BSUPA said “Its great to have such strong support from not only the Paddlers but also the brands – the BSUPA series of events will lead to a National Champion, and looking at the level of SUP riding it will be a well deserved award”
The event will include wave and distance events and is open to male and female, adults and juniors alike, with all entrants requiring BSUPA membership.
There will be on-beach coaching sessions, board demos and other SUP events subject to conditions, so even if you are not entering there will be lots of SUP’ers from around the UK to meet up with and SUP activities to be involved in – Everyone is welcome.
Sunset Surf Shop & Café are putting on entertainment on Saturday Night which will include Food, Drinks and Music - entry fee payable on the door.

There will be information pack for anyone to download which will include details on where to stay, places to eat and how to get there. This will be available to download later this week.
