BSUPA Round One - West WitteringThe morning dawned cloudy and as expected flat, but this didn't put off a healthy entry list in getting into some paddling. The organisers ran two rounds of distance racing. Each race took between 30 - 50 minutes to complete. The conditions were good for distance racing with a mix of downwind and upwind legs. The winner of both races was Neal Gent from Bracklesham, who put in a solid performance on all legs of the course. Second was John Hibbard and third was Mark Slater, who were challenging for the top spot all the way. Neal comments: " I should stop doing endurance races against John, I've lost count of the amount of times we've clashed in various races over the years in all kinds of sports. It's all good fun though, especially when you're leading!!" John says: " It was hard work but good fun, and the atmosphere on the beach was great. Bring on tomorrow" Stayed tuned for the full report tomorrow:
